Tankless Water Heater Services in Conyers

Tankless water heater services in Conyers cover a different machine from a tank: an on-demand unit whose failures are usually about flow, scale, gas supply or venting, not a stored volume running out. SoCo Plumbers sizes, installs, descales and repairs tankless units during business hours, Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM, with gas supply and venting measured in your house before any price is agreed. Permits are checked with the City of Conyers or Rockdale County as applicable, and no permit fee is stated here, because that figure is unverified.

What Tankless Water Heater Services Includes

Every tankless water heater services visit follows the same core scope: diagnose first, agree the price and scope in writing, do the work, and test before leaving.

  • Full unit diagnosisFlow rate, error codes, gas supply, venting route and inlet temperature are checked, so a flow fault is not mistaken for a failed heat exchanger.
  • Descaling flushMineral scale is flushed from the heat exchanger, which is the leading maintenance need for tankless units in Conyers water conditions.
  • Replacement partsFailed components are replaced with parts matched to the unit, and the unit is tested at simultaneous-fixture demand before sign-off.
  • Install and changeoutA tank-to-tankless changeout or a like-for-like tankless swap is sized on gas, venting, demand and space, with permits checked as applicable.
  • Filter and flow checkInlet filters and flow sensors are checked, since a clogged filter mimics a failing unit.
  • Code-correct ventingVenting route and condensate handling are checked to the adopted code, since many Conyers utility spaces were not designed for a tankless flue.

Tankless Water Heater Services in Conyers, Georgia

A tankless unit does not store hot water; it heats water as it flows, which changes both its strengths and its failures. Scale inside the heat exchanger is the leading killer in Conyers water conditions, a clogged inlet filter mimics a failing unit, and an undersized gas line that was fine for a tank will starve a high-demand tankless unit. Sizing is therefore done around simultaneous demand and winter inlet temperature, not around a single shower. Our water heater repair work covers tank units, and our water heater installation page covers the tank replacement step; tankless work is its own discipline.

Conyers conditions sharpen the point. Mineral content means descaling is maintenance, not an optional extra, and skipping it is the fastest route to an early unit failure. Older homes often have gas lines sized for a tank, not for a tankless unit's peak draw, and many utility closets were never designed for a tankless flue route. As background only, Oct-2026 Atlanta market data, not SoCo Plumbers' prices — call for a written price before work.: gas tankless installation ran $1,406–$3,902 (Angi national, August 2026, average $2,641). Households are measured first: gas, venting, demand and space decide whether tankless fits at all.

Measure gas, venting and demand first, descale on schedule, and test at simultaneous use.

What Happens When You Call

From the first call to the final test, here is the sequence for a tankless water heater service visit in Conyers, booked during business hours.

  1. Call and Schedule

    Phone Call

Call +17708971640 Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM. Tell us the unit's error code, if any, and how many fixtures run at once; we will talk through shutting off water or gas if that is the safe first step.

  2. Diagnose On Site

    Visit and Arrival

We schedule a visit during business hours and confirm the window. On arrival we check capacity, venting, and the error history first, before any repair or dismantling.

  3. Repair or Descale

    Diagnosis

We check flow rate, error codes, gas supply, venting and inlet temperature, and descale where scale is the cause. The diagnosis separates a maintenance fault from a component fault.

  4. Install or Replace

    Repair or Replacement

The unit is descaled, repaired or replaced as the diagnosis requires, then tested with simultaneous fixtures running, since a tankless unit is judged at peak demand.

  5. Test and Walkthrough

    Test and Walkthrough

Before we leave, the unit is run at peak demand and checked for error codes, and we walk you through what failed and what to watch next.

Tools and Methods We Use

  • Local service team

    Descaling pump kit

Circulates food-grade descaler through the heat exchanger for 45 to 60 minutes, then flushes with clean water. This is the core tool for tankless maintenance in hard-water areas like Conyers.

  • Diagnosis and Shut-Off

    Manometer

Measures gas pressure at the manifold to confirm the unit is getting the BTU input it needs. An undersized or partially blocked gas line is a common cause of no-hot-water calls.

  • Commercial Plumbing Services

    Flow meter

Checks gallons per minute at the fixture against the unit's minimum activation threshold. If flow is too low, the heater will not fire, no matter how good the unit is.

  • Call and describe the business impact

    Multimeter

Tests voltage and resistance on electric tankless units and on the control boards of gas models. It is how we confirm a failed element or board instead of guessing.

  • Running or weak-flushing toilet

    Press tool

Makes clean, code-correct connections on copper pipe and PEX tubing without open flame. Useful in tight utility closets where a torch kit is a bad idea.

  • Dripping tap or shower

    Leak detection equipment

Finds hidden leaks at fittings and valves before they reach the electronics. Water and control boards do not mix, so we locate the source first.

  • Slow bathroom drain

    Pipe wrench and pipe cutter

Standard workhorses for replacing supply lines, shutoff valves, and fittings around the unit. Every tankless repair starts with clean, properly sized connections.

  • Leaking toilet base or tub drain

    Manufacturer error-code diagnostics

We read the code from the unit's board and verify the fault with a meter and a flow test. Clearing a code without fixing the cause just delays the next failure, so we confirm the actual component before replacing anything.

When Tankless Service Is the Right Call

  • Hot water fades when a second fixture opens

A unit that copes with one shower but not two is usually undersized, gas-starved or scaled. Flow, gas and scale are measured before any recommendation.

  • The unit shows an error code or shuts down

Error codes narrow the fault — ignition, flow, venting or overheating — but they do not replace testing. We read the code, then test the component it points to.

  • Water temperature swings during a shower

Temperature swings point to flow, scale or gas supply. Descaling and a gas check come before any talk of replacing the unit.

  • A tank-to-tankless changeout is being considered

Gas line size, venting route, demand and space are measured first. If any of them rules tankless out, that is stated plainly before pricing.

How Tankless Service Runs in Conyers

Tankless work in Conyers is dominated by scale, gas and venting. Mineral content in the water means heat exchangers scale faster than in softer-water areas, so descaling on a regular schedule is not optional. Older homes with copper pipe and tight utility closets often need venting routes planned and gas lines upsized before a tankless unit can perform, while newer builds with modern mechanical rooms are usually straightforward. Larger homes with multiple bathrooms are sized around simultaneous shower and laundry use, not a single-fixture estimate, and winter inlet temperatures are part of that calculation.

  • Olde Town ConyersOlder homes with copper pipe and tight utility closets. Venting routes often need planning, and gas lines frequently need upsizing for a tankless unit.
  • FieldstoneLarger homes with multiple bathrooms and high hot-water demand. Units are sized around simultaneous shower and laundry use.
  • Honey CreekNewer construction with modern mechanical rooms. Installs are usually straightforward, and the gas line and venting are confirmed against the unit's requirements.
  • Lake CapriHomes near the water see higher humidity in utility areas. Corrosion on fittings is checked, and vent and condensate lines are confirmed clear.
  • Rockdale Water Resources supplyMost of the area is served by Rockdale Water Resources from Big Haynes Creek, with the 2025 consumer confidence report showing no violations. A sudden bill jump still warrants a meter and fixture check.
  • Ageing pipe erasConyers (median year built 1993) and Rockdale County (1990) mix galvanized, copper, cast iron and PEX. Each material fails differently, so diagnosis starts with what is actually in the walls and ground.

From problem to finished result

  • A unit that faded with a second shower

    Before

A tankless unit delivered hot water to one shower but went lukewarm when a second fixture opened.

    After

Flow and gas measurements showed the gas line was undersized for peak draw. Upsizing the line restored full simultaneous delivery, and the unit was tested at peak demand.

Tankless performance is judged at peak demand. Test with two fixtures running, not one.

  • A unit shut down by scale

    Before

An ageing tankless unit began shutting down, with error codes pointing to overheating.

    After

Descaling flushed the heat exchanger, inlet filters were cleaned, and the unit ran cleanly at full demand afterwards.

Scale is the leading tankless fault in Conyers water. Descaling on schedule prevents most shutdowns.

  • A changeout that needed a new vent route

    Before

A planned tank-to-tankless changeout found no suitable flue route in the existing closet.

    After

The venting route was planned and priced before work started, and the installation was completed to the adopted code with permits checked as applicable.

If a changeout quote ignores venting, it is incomplete. The flue route decides whether the job is possible at all.

Problems Tankless Service Covers

Most tankless calls fall into a handful of categories. Here are the ones we see most often in Conyers and how each is handled.

  • No hot water or lukewarm water only

    Fading delivery under simultaneous use

Flow, gas supply and scale are measured. Undersizing, gas starvation and scaling look alike at the shower and differ completely in the fix.

  • Error code on the display

    Error codes and shutdowns

Codes are read, then the component they point to is tested. A code is a clue, not a diagnosis.

  • Mineral scale in the heat exchanger

    Temperature swings

Flow sensors, scale and gas supply are checked in order. Descaling comes before any replacement discussion.

  • Leak at the fittings or the unit

    Scale build-up

Heat exchangers are flushed on a regular schedule. Skipping descaling is the fastest route to early failure in Conyers water.

  • Undersized gas line or low flow

    Venting and condensate faults

Flue routes and condensate lines are checked to code, since many utility spaces were not designed for a tankless flue.

Done properly, tested before we leave

  • Written price before work

You agree the price and the scope before work starts, including capacity, venting, and descaling. Oct-2026 Atlanta market data on this page is background only, never a quote for your job — call for a written price before work.

  • Work to the adopted code

Tankless work is built to the 2024 International Plumbing Code with Georgia Amendments, effective 1 January 2026. Permits are checked with the City of Conyers or Rockdale County as applicable, and gas or electrical capacity is confirmed before installation.

  • Descaling as maintenance, not an upsell

In Conyers water, descaling is what keeps a tankless unit alive. It is scheduled as maintenance and explained as such, with the heat exchanger's condition shown where possible.

  • Tested, not assumed

Installed and serviced tankless units are run at peak demand and checked for error codes before we pack up, and old parts are shown to you so you can see what was replaced.

What to know before the visit

Three facts make a tankless visit accurate. Here is what to have ready.

  • When delivery fades

Note whether it fades with a second fixture, after a period of use, or at all times. Each pattern points to a different cause.

  • Any error code

Note the code exactly as displayed, and whether the unit resets or stays down. The code narrows testing considerably.

  • Gas and venting as they stand

If you know the gas line size or can photograph the flue route, share it. Both decide what the unit can actually deliver.

What Conyers Homeowners Say

  • No Accountability they replaced a toilet they broke but said they didn't, I complained about other things I found disrespectful only to get pushback, they cut holes they didn't need to cut. The plumbing work was good work but if your cutting holes go from stud to stud to make it easy on the homeowner to repair. And I didn't make a big deal of it but I got to different quotes first through a recommendation from a realtor that called and they quoted 3000 for plumbing and 14 hundred for sheet rock repair that turned into 3600 and no sheatrock repair.

  • Really nice people! The company is run by a husband-and-wife team, and they've both been very friendly and easy to work with. Their prices are reasonable, and once you're ready to get the work done, they get started right away. What I appreciated the most was that they stayed at my house well past normal business hours just to make sure I had running hot water and could take a shower that night. They installed my new pipes and water heater and made sure there were no leaks before leaving. As I've been checking out their work, I've also noticed how neat and careful they are. They aren't just tearing out my sheetrock unnecessarily. They're making clean cuts and even labeling the pieces they remove so my handyman can put them back when it's time to patch everything up. That means I won't have to buy a bunch of additional sheetrock, which will save me money on the repairs afterward. I really appreciate that they’re thinking about things like that while doing the job. So far, I'm very happy with the work and how they’ve handled everything. I'll update my review once the entire job is completed!
