General Plumbing Repairs in Conyers

Plumbing repairs in Conyers cover the everyday failures that do not fit a single trade heading: a drip under a sink, pressure that has faded across the house, a toilet that will not stop running, a valve that will not close. SoCo Plumbers diagnoses the cause during business hours, Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM, agrees a written price before work, and tests the repair before leaving.

What Plumbing Repairs Includes

Every plumbing repairs visit follows the same core scope: diagnose first, agree the price and scope in writing, do the work, and test before leaving.

  • Full diagnostic inspectionWe trace the symptom to its cause — fixture, valve, supply line or drain — rather than swapping the most visible part and hoping.
  • Written price before workThe scope and price are agreed before work starts. Market background is labelled as such and is never presented as your quote.
  • Repair with quality partsFailed sections are rebuilt to match the existing system, with joints and fittings made to the 2024 International Plumbing Code with Georgia Amendments.
  • Pressure test and fixture runThe repaired branch is pressure-tested and every fixture on it is run, so a weeping joint is caught before we leave.
  • Cleanup and haul-awayOld parts are shown to you and hauled away, and the work area is wiped down.

Plumbing Repairs in Conyers, Georgia

General plumbing repair is the catch-all category: the drip that has stained a cabinet, the pressure that faded over months, the toilet that runs all night, the shut-off that spins without closing. A good repair starts with diagnosis, because the same symptom has different causes — low pressure can be a failing pressure-reducing valve, a choked galvanized line, or a partially closed main valve, and each has a different fix. Our leak detection and repair work and drain cleaning work overlap here, since a damp patch can be a supply leak, a drain leak or condensation, and guessing wrong wastes a visit.

Conyers stock shapes the work. With a city median year built of 1993 and a county median of 1990, many homes sit in the mid-life window where galvanized lines choke, copper pinholes, and valves seize. Rockdale Water Resources supplies most of the area from Big Haynes Creek, and its 2025 report showed no violations, so a sudden pressure or taste change points first to the house system, not the main. Sewer versus septic is parcel by parcel, which matters whenever a drain symptom is part of the call.

Find the cause first, agree the price, repair it once, and test it.

What Happens When You Call

From the first call to the final test, here is the sequence for a general plumbing repair visit in Conyers, booked during business hours.

  1. Call and Schedule

    Phone Call

Call +17708971640 Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM. Tell us the fixture, the symptom, and when it started; we will talk through shutting off water or an individual valve if that is the safe first step.

  2. On-Site Diagnosis

    Visit and Arrival

We schedule a visit during business hours and confirm the window. On arrival we find the failed part or joint first, before any repair or dismantling.

  3. Written Price and Approval

    Diagnosis

We confirm the cause before replacing parts: pressure readings, a meter check for a hidden leak, and a look at the valve or fixture internals. A symptom with two possible causes gets both checked.

  4. Repair and Testing

    Repair or Replacement

The failed part or section is repaired or replaced to match the existing system, and the branch is tested at normal pressure before the work area is cleaned.

  5. Cleanup and Walkthrough

    Test and Walkthrough

Before we leave, the repair is run at normal pressure and checked in use where that applies, and we show you what failed and what to watch next.

Tools and Methods We Use

  • Local service team

    Sewer camera

We run a camera down drain and sewer lines to see roots, cracks, and buildup. You see the footage before we recommend a repair.

  • SoCo Plumbers team at work

    Hydro jetter

High-pressure water clears grease, scale, and roots from drain lines. It is the go-to tool for recurring commercial clogs in Conyers.

  • Careful professional work

    Leak detection equipment

We use acoustic and pressure testing tools to find slab leaks and hidden line leaks without tearing up your floor.

  • Local service area

    Press tool

For copper pipe and PEX tubing connections, a press tool makes secure joints without open flame. It is faster and safer in tight spaces.

  • Local service area

    Drain snake and auger

For clogged drains and toilets, we use a drain snake or auger to break up blockages. Most clogs clear in under an hour.

  • Local service team

    Pipe cutter and torch kit

We cut and solder copper pipe with a pipe cutter and torch kit. For PEX, we use crimp or press fittings. Every joint is pressure-tested.

  • Local service team

2024 International Plumbing Code with Georgia Amendments compliance

Every repair follows the 2024 International Plumbing Code with Georgia Amendments. That covers pipe sizing, venting, and material selection. Code-correct work passes inspection and protects your home's value.

  • Local service area

    Pressure testing

After any repair, we pressure-test the line to confirm no leaks. We run the fixture and check every connection. You see the test before we pack up.

When a General Repair Is the Right Call

  • A drip under a sink or behind a toilet that will not stop

We find whether the drip is a supply joint, a valve, a trap or a tank fitting, then repair the failed part and test under pressure. A slow drip rots cabinets quietly, so it is worth a visit even when it looks small.

  • Pressure has faded at every fixture

We check the main valve, the pressure-reducing valve and the supply material. Galvanized lines choke from inside with age; a valve fault is a simpler fix, and the diagnosis tells them apart.

  • A toilet runs, rocks or will not flush properly

We test the fill valve, flapper, flush mechanism and flange. Running toilets waste water without flooding, which is why they are often ignored until the bill arrives.

  • A shut-off valve will not close when you need it

We replace seized angle stops and main valves during a planned visit, so the next urgent job starts with water control instead of a scramble for the street valve.

How Plumbing Repairs Work in Conyers

Conyers repair work follows the clay and the calendar. Expansive red clay stresses buried lines, winter freezes split exposed runs in crawlspaces and garages, and summer storms bring root growth into older laterals. Older homes near Olde Town often still carry galvanized supply lines that corrode from inside; newer builds use PEX and copper, which move better with the soil but still fail at fittings when pressure runs high. A repair visit therefore starts with the house's era and material, not with the symptom alone.

  • Olde Town ConyersMany homes here date to the 1950s and 1960s with original galvanized supply lines. Corrosion and low pressure calls are common, and diagnosis separates a choked line from a valve fault.
  • FieldstoneNewer construction with PEX tubing and modern fixtures. Common calls are cartridge replacements, valve adjustments and pressure-reducing valve faults.
  • Honey CreekLarger lots with long runs. Leaks here are often at joints stressed by soil movement, and a meter check separates a supply leak from a drain problem.
  • Lake CapriHomes near the lake deal with higher water tables. Sump and crawlspace moisture after heavy rain are common, and sewer-versus-septic must be confirmed per parcel.
  • Ageing pipe erasConyers (median year built 1993) and Rockdale County (1990) mix galvanized, copper, cast iron and PEX. Each material fails differently, so diagnosis starts with what is actually in the walls and ground.
  • Rockdale Water Resources supplyMost of the area is served by Rockdale Water Resources from Big Haynes Creek, with the 2025 consumer confidence report showing no violations. A sudden bill jump still warrants a meter and fixture check.

From problem to finished result

  • Faded pressure across the whole house

    Before

Every fixture ran weakly, and the cause was not obvious from any single tap.

    After

Pressure readings and a valve check isolated a failing pressure-reducing valve. Replacing it restored normal pressure, and the branch was tested at every fixture.

If pressure fades gradually, note whether it affects hot, cold or both — that narrows the cause before the visit.

  • A drip that stained a cabinet floor

    Before

A slow drip under a kitchen sink had darkened the cabinet base over weeks.

    After

The failed trap joint and a seized angle stop were replaced, the line was tested under pressure, and the cabinet was dried and wiped down.

Wipe under sinks monthly. A stain caught early is a joint; left alone it becomes a cabinet floor.

  • A toilet that ran all night

    Before

A running toilet wasted water without ever flooding, and the household only noticed on the bill.

    After

The fill valve and flapper were tested, the failed parts replaced, and the flush and refill checked over several cycles.

A toilet that refills on its own between uses has a leak from tank to bowl — usually a flapper or fill valve.

Problems a General Repair Covers

Most repair calls fall into a handful of categories. Here are the ones we see most often in Conyers and how each is handled.

  • Slab leak under the foundation

    Drips and small leaks

Supply joints, valves, traps and tank fittings are tested one by one. The failed part is repaired, not the whole fixture, where the fixture itself is sound.

  • Burst pipe during a freeze

    Low or uneven pressure

Main valve, pressure-reducing valve and supply material are checked in order. Choked galvanized pipe and a faulty valve look alike at the tap and differ completely in the fix.

  • Running toilet wasting water

    Running or rocking toilets

Fill valve, flapper, flush mechanism and flange are tested. A rocking toilet usually means a failed flange or seal, and it is fixed before the floor takes damage.

  • Low water pressure throughout the house

    Valves that will not shut

Seized angle stops and main valves are replaced on a planned visit, so future work starts with reliable water control.

Done properly, tested before we leave

  • Written price before work

You agree the price and the scope before work starts. Oct-2026 Atlanta market data on this page is background only, never a quote for your job — call for a written price before work.

  • Work to the adopted code

Repair work is built to the 2024 International Plumbing Code with Georgia Amendments, effective 1 January 2026. Permits are checked with the City of Conyers or Rockdale County as applicable, where a repair changes routing or material.

  • Diagnosis before parts

We do not swap parts by guesswork. Pressure readings, meter checks and a look inside the valve or fixture come first, so you pay for the fix the house actually needs.

  • Tested, not assumed

Every repair is run and checked under normal use before we pack up, and old parts are shown to you so you can see what was replaced.

What to know before the visit

A few facts about your house shorten the visit and sharpen the diagnosis. Here is what helps most in Conyers homes.

  • Know your pipe material

Copper, PEX, galvanized steel and cast iron fail differently. If you know what is in the walls, say so on the call.

  • Note hot, cold or both

A fault on hot only points to the heater or hot branch; a fault on both points to the main, a valve or the supply line.

  • Find your main valve

It is usually near the meter or where the supply enters the house. A valve that turns freely today saves a scramble later.

What Conyers Homeowners Say

  • No Accountability they replaced a toilet they broke but said they didn't, I complained about other things I found disrespectful only to get pushback, they cut holes they didn't need to cut. The plumbing work was good work but if your cutting holes go from stud to stud to make it easy on the homeowner to repair. And I didn't make a big deal of it but I got to different quotes first through a recommendation from a realtor that called and they quoted 3000 for plumbing and 14 hundred for sheet rock repair that turned into 3600 and no sheatrock repair.

  • Really nice people! The company is run by a husband-and-wife team, and they've both been very friendly and easy to work with. Their prices are reasonable, and once you're ready to get the work done, they get started right away. What I appreciated the most was that they stayed at my house well past normal business hours just to make sure I had running hot water and could take a shower that night. They installed my new pipes and water heater and made sure there were no leaks before leaving. As I've been checking out their work, I've also noticed how neat and careful they are. They aren't just tearing out my sheetrock unnecessarily. They're making clean cuts and even labeling the pieces they remove so my handyman can put them back when it's time to patch everything up. That means I won't have to buy a bunch of additional sheetrock, which will save me money on the repairs afterward. I really appreciate that they’re thinking about things like that while doing the job. So far, I'm very happy with the work and how they’ve handled everything. I'll update my review once the entire job is completed!
